Warriors unveil Las Vegas dates for Summer League

One day after the Warriors selected two players expected to be part of their Summer League team, the NBA released the schedule for the Las Vegas event next month.

Golden State draft picks Brandin Podziemski, the No. 19 pick out of Santa Clara, and Trayce Jackson-Davis, taken No. 57 out of Indiana, are expected to debut in Warriors colors during the California Classic on July 3 and 5 in Sacramento.

The Warriors will open play in the desert later that week with a date July 7 against the Lakers. That game, which tips off at 8 p.m., will air nationally on ESPN. Lakers draftees Jalen Hood-Schifino — an Indiana teammate of Jackson-Davis’ — and Maxwell Lewis, a wing out of Pepperdine.

The Warriors’ three other games for Summer League are July 9 vs. New Orleans, July 12 vs. Dallas and July 13 vs. Houston.

After each team plays four games, only four teams will advance to the playoffs, with semifinal games on July 16 and the title game on July 17. The 26 teams that do not reach the playoffs will also play a final fifth game on the weekend of July 15-16.

Amen Thompson and his brother Ausar, the East Bay-born-and-raised twins who went fourth and fifth in Thursday’s draft, will face off in the Pistons’ game against the Rockets on July 9.
