OAKLAND — Two women were shot Saturday night as they were driving in East Oakland, authorities said.
A third woman in the vehicle was not hurt.
The women were in a car driving westbound in the 9000 block of Edes Avenue about 9:55 p.m. Saturday when they were shot at by at least one occupant of another car, police said.
The women were able to drive a short distance to the 9100 block of Date Street where their car crashed.
The two wounded women, a 35-year-old Castro Valley resident and a 34-year-old Oakland resident, were taken to a hospital where they were in stable condition, authorities said.
It was not clear which of the three women was driving the car.
The vehicle the suspects were believed to have been in was recovered in the area but the occupants fled before police got to the scene.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
