REDWOOD CITY — A Caltrain hit and killed a person near Whipple Avenue just after noon on Tuesday in Redwood City, according to the commuter rail line.
The incident occurred at 12:30 p.m., when a person was struck by a southbound train carrying about 75 passengers. No other injuries were reported.
According to a Caltrain spokesperson, the train remained stopped near the collision area as of 12:52 p.m.
The fatal crash was the eighth involving a Caltrain of 2023. The seventh and most recent death was Friday night in San Francisco.
