A gas explosion at a Lake Elsinore baseball stadium left two people hospitalized on Friday afternoon.

Authorities received reports of a gas explosion inside the Lake Elsinore Diamond stadium around 4:21 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department and Cal Fire.

Two people were burned during the explosion and were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The stadium is home to the Lake Elsinore Storm, a Single-A minor league affiliate of the San Diego Padres.

The stadium was evacuated and the Storm’s game against the Inland Empire 66ers on Friday night has been postponed.

“Due to an incident at the stadium, today and tomorrow’s game will be postponed until further notice,” the team announced on Twitter.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation. Local gas companies were notified and responded to the scene.
