A female was robbed at gunpoint in a downtown Los Angeles parking garage in broad daylight Tuesday morning, the most current in a sequence of robberies and thefts at and near jewellery merchants.
The theft took position just just before 11 a.m. at a garage at 639 S. Broadway, which is positioned around the St. Vincent Jewellery Center, General Supervisor Nejdeh Avedian mentioned.
The robber is believed to have entered the garage from the avenue and waited in close proximity to the elevators for the target, whom he approached from driving with a gun in one particular hand.
Online video footage shows him grabbing the woman’s wrist and demanding jewelry and other items from her purse before working away.
“Clearly she was in shock … She couldn’t imagine it was taking place,” Avedian mentioned.
The suspect didn’t make it incredibly considerably, Avedian added.
“Because of all the cameras we have, we had been equipped to not only capture his face but also the license plate of the motor vehicle that he was driving,” he explained.
Avedian stated police instructed him that the suspected robber was arrested Tuesday night time, but the Los Angeles Law enforcement Section has not still responded to KTLA’s request for a lot more data.
In the meantime, Avedian explained the the latest crime spike is “aggravating” for him, the two as the supervisor of a jewellery keep and “as an Angeleno.”
“It has under no circumstances been this lousy, at any time … Sadly in the times that we are residing in, with the situation with people becoming ready to get out of prison or get out of jail with out acquiring any kind of repercussions, folks have to be a minimal bit extra mindful,” he claimed.
Commencing Friday, armed guards will be stationed in that parking garage.
